Infrastructure:
More funding for neighborhood and other city owned road repaving, especially high traffic
roads
New downtown parking deck and additional surface parking throughout downtown
Federal funding requests for honeysuckle expansion; highway 84/605 intersection redesign,
and additional sidewalks on main/arterial roads to better facilitate pedestrian movement
Quality of Life:
Improved garbage service that is more consistent; more predictable holiday garbage
schedules
New track and field complex for Dothan area students, shared use by all Dothan area schools
New senior center in D3/D4 to support our elderly residents on the southern side of town
Maintain low cost of living through low taxes, adequate housing supply, and affordable utilities
Economic Development:
Establish a downtown economic development zone to encourage and incentivize new
business
Create an incentive plan for a new downtown hotel that would start construction in late 2026
Façade and structural improvements to make DDRA owned properties development ready
Review regulations and streamline permit/licensing fees to be more development friendly
New workforce development/advanced manufacturing training center to train future workforce
Support the growth/establishment of additional higher education campuses to attract more
long-term students and to further develop an education-based economic sector
Final decision on downtown redevelopment plan (Civic Center, Indoor Sportsplex, Traffic
Circle)
Recruit more doctors to Dothan by offering relocation and other incentives (license fee
waivers)
Recruit high-demand/critical need teachers with relocation bonuses and other incentives
Community Improvement/Engagement:
Stronger support and closer coordination with Fort Rucker and wiregrass area veterans;
establish Dothan as a Purple Heart city; establish a veterans resource center in Dothan
Reduction in homelessness via more mental health facilities, case managers, federal funding
More city and community support/funding for after school programs to help at risk youth
Incentivize construction of walk-In Medical Clinic that takes all insurance in under-served areas
Incentivize construction of affordable grocery stores/food markets in under-served areas
